3500 is too short for the Boxster. Extensions will often make the collapsed height too high for a lowered car. 5000 probably the best bet

As JFP says, it has nothing to do with a 996. You probably have an ROW tune. Sometimes people do that to get rid of pesky SAI codes or even O2 codes

I had always passed a vacuum through the front bumper and there wasn't usually very much. But what you see is only the AC rad. There's actually much more in there! I too never had any heating/cooling...

2002 is a 5 chain engine like the 2000 and 2001. They use the same motronics. I don't see a problem.

+1 on the AOS. Your spirited drive surely contained some corners where one might imagine oil following those G forces. When the AOS is not in top shape, some oil gets piped into the intake, burns...
