Physics….

….Your Boxster has staggered wheel sizes and a rear weight bias.

My experience…..

…..I have a 2004 “50 Years of the 550 Spyder Edition” Boxster S that had the factory M030 sport suspension.

I just replaced all of it at 80,000 miles and 20 years with the ROW M030 sport...

Copy that.

Every time I think about buying a hard top, I remember that I had one for my old NA Miata, and I never used it.

Why…

….so little usage?

Pain in the butt? Like top down driving too much?

I’ve been searching for a Carrera GT Silver one like our cars.

Griot’s fan here…

…Check out Griot’s Garage.

Search on You Tube for their channel.

Great support, instruction, and products.

I’ve been using their system for a few years and really like it.

Yes…

Water pumps “time out” every four years.

Also, I would replace all of the idler pulleys.

I’ve seen lots of them fail.

Just do what I did….

……it’s much easier.

Just buy a 2004 “50 Years of the 550 Spyder Edition Boxster S” like I did.

She comes WITH a 987 Airbox.

I wasn’t…

….talking about flying the Learjet, I was talking about changing the oil on the Learjet.

:)

Anybody can FLY a Learjet. Look at that kid in Portland who took the Dash-8 up.

No….

….”Global Windows” control does NOT work with button, key in cylinder only.

I recommend you pick up an owner’s manual.

If you were about to fly your used Learjet across the ocean, you’d read...

This is explained in….

….your owner’s manual.

It’s all in there.

You bought an exotic car. Take twenty minutes and read the owner’s manual.

The security system goes into a “Deep Sleep” mode after a few days....

…the “sensors” are little arms on the suspension that move up and down with squat & dive that send the signal to the “computer” you speak of in the rear.

While the serpentine belt is off…

….replace all of the idler pulleys on the serpentine belt.

I have seen those pulleys have a bearing seizure and start a car fire that totaled the Boxster.

Yes and no.

I bought my 2004 “50 years of the 550 Spyder edition” Boxster S in 2015 with 25,000 miles on her.

I have spent $20,000 on preventative maintenance.

BUT, the car has been amazing and worth it....

There is….

….an aftermarket, waterproof box that you can install around the immobilizer under the driver’s seat.

It’s good peace of mind.

I installed one.

Google it.
