Modifying Front Fender Liners For Better Cooling

Has anyone done this:

At first glance, seems like a good idea.

It’s more trouble than you think….

……also, the airflow out the bottom of the radiators on our cars is really great. As long as you have those two rubber flaps on each side, you get a huge pressure difference on both sides of the radiators.


If you want more cooling capacity, just install the double core, all aluminum CSF radiators.

I think there’s a good reason for the top vents on the GT3 bumper cover having experienced a bit of float over 100mph on the track with my Boxster. Although, oddly, my 997 doesn’t feel so bad.

Oops….

…..I guess I should have read the link first, this is to improve brake cooling.

I installed the bigger GT3 brake cooling vanes on the control arm. I don’t k ow if that helped either.

I have an “S” with the bigger brakes, and when running the Porsche Sport pads, I’ve never run out of brakes at DE events.

997 vents into the wheel wells like the mod.

i presume if good enough for porsche to make the change then it's a good thing to do.
