Hey Ff. Your on a winner there. If the oil was changed @ 3-4k mile intervals then ims bearing should be fine. From my limited knowledge the bearing only fails when lub oil gets contaminated.

Check all of the hoses in the AOS circuit...
Check all of the hoses in the AOS circuit particularly the plastic correlated ones as they have a tendency to crack and then drip oil and pull air which upsets the entire balance of the engine.
