New Cayman owner

I drove many Boxsters and had some awful PPI's. I thought the convertibles were way too loud. So...I now own a 2009 Cayman 6 speed. It seems to stick to the pavement better than the Boxes and Miatas. I flew to ATL, rode Marta rail to Doraville and 12 miles later I was in a P-Car. Loving it thus far.

Congrats! I love convertibles, living in NW FL on the beach. Gotta say, I really like the Cayman. If I ever decided to buy a coupe, it'd be the only car on my list.

Hope you have a great time with it! More details...pics.
Did you buy from dealer or PO?

Welcome, I too have a 2009 Cayman 6 speed, I love it, they are great cars. Pics please!

Here is the current state of mine, this pic was taken just a few days ago. I have turned my Boxster back to a street car and the Cayman is morphing into full track mode. Sadly a side effect of all of that is it is not as fun to just take on a Sunday drive anymore..

Just below your text box is a link to add pics. Your pics have to be < 5K in size (silly site rule). See below. There's another way to add pics but that way makes the pic appear huge in the thread and renders the thread unreadable since you have to slide right and left to read everything. ONLY USE THE WAY BELOW TO INSERT PICS.

Ahhh... the slippery slope. I still need to drive my CSS around in the winter, so I have to keep it somewhat streetable. The mods I make are done with an eye towards keeping it reasonably livable. I just added Pedro's Techno Bar, figuring that would improve handling while not affecting ride. Some of the reviews are mixed on how effective it is but I won't find out until Oct 16 at Indy. Figured it couldn't hurt and was only $100.

Wow. It worked. It took forever; but it worked.

Hill hold

brake/clutch is a bit difficult to get comfortable with. Any thoughts?

What a great looking car! Here's a picture of mine, taken in the middle of California somewhere north of Bakersfield. This was on the drive from San Diego to Seattle when I bought it a few weeks ago.

Mine's a PDK, so I may not be of any help with the clutch question. You said the brake clutch is difficult to comfortable with, can you expand on that?

If the car is on a 5% grade or more, the brake engages. 3 seconds after you lift your foot off the brake, it releases and the clutch is then let out.

The hill hold took me by surprise the first time on my 09 Cayman, but the clutch and shifting is smoother on my Cayman than it is in my 2000 Boxster S

Are you waiting for the brake to release before moving forward?
