19"x11" on my Boxster

Can anyone give me a definative answer on this issue. I want to install a set of new 997s, 19"x11" wheels on my boxster. I've researched this question as it's come up in the past but didn't see if anyone has actually done it. These aren't an aftermarket set of wheels and I need to know for sure before I buy them. I don't want to have to install spacers or rig it in any way. Has anyone done this? Thanks

well from what i know.....

my boxster has 10.5 inch width rims on the rear, and they pretty much touched the inside of the struts. pretty much because when the car raised off the ground, the rims touched. when the car was sitting on the ground, the rims could only fit a peice of cardboard through the strut to wheel. i had to put a 7mm spacer. 11inch on the rear will for sure need a spacer.

i would only try this on a new 987, dont even think about putting a 11 on the rear of a 986. my porsche mechanic already thinks im crazy for putting a 10.5 x 19 on a 986.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I'm running 18" wheels now but want something a little wider for looks. I thought i'd move up to 19" wheels and go for the 11" width. Maybe i'll keep it at 10.5 instead. Thanks!!

I've got 285/30/18 on my 18X10 right now, I have enough room for a 295/30/18 as well if i wanted to go wider.
