The 2.5 has a throttle cable, the 2.7 and 3.2 have e-gas. It would be very expensive and require a new motronic unit and lots of parts to make the 3.2 work in a former 2.5 car.
That's why the 3.4 conversion is so popular - there is a non e-gas version of the 3.4 from the 1999 model year 996 that only needs a custom intake, motor mount, and updated ECU to be good to go. You can take the rest of the engine accessories over from the 2.5 to build out the engine.
Hope this info helps!!
