TEIN EnduraPro Shocks/Struts? Thoughts?

I'm considering a set of Tein Endura Pros for my Box.
I'm just just a casual/spirited driver (not tracking the car).
I'm looking for some thoughts from those who may have them installed already.
Ride quality?
Build quality?

I would never put Chinese junk on my car, especially any Porsche.

They're made in Japan.
And I'm not going pretend my car is a $250k 911 Turbo S. It's 25 years old and might be worth about $10k. That's why I'm looking at options.

Got it! I can appreciate that. I just meant cheap in terms of longevity--and damping.
I've got some Konis I squirreled away when there was a sale. I intend to hold them until I need them and the new lowering springs. I'm not sure I want to lose the suspension travel as it rides and handles so well now.
How are these priced?

~$530 for a set of 4. That price is low enough to make me question their quality, thus the original question.
I see numerous performance shops sell them but feedback or reviews are limited.

I don’t know about the EnduraPro specifically but Tein in general have a good rep over here in the U.K. especially with Japanese performance cars.
I had Tein mono sport on my track biased RX8 and they were excellent. Those could also be linked with edfc control unit to make them adjustable whilst on the move.

They are not in the same league as Ohlins but great value at the price point.

I didn’t know Tein had an application for the Boxster, now I know I will take a good look at them myself.

I installed them on my 02 986 and they work well with the stock springs. They are 2 clicks from max stiffness and probably should be adjusted to be less stiff but overall, zero complaints.

Just drove 1500 miles with them last weekend to include running the Tale of the Dragon and they were fine albeit a little stiff.

I have these shocks but not for my 986, but for a Toyota.

For the price, they are not bad, compared to say, a set of Koni FSDs I had for my Boxster and some Koni Yellows I had for my old E36 M3. I've had the TEINs for well over three years now and over 30,000KM (not miles) moving onto its fifth year of mixed city and highway driving, plus several road trips to the Midwest. My daily driver sees all kinds of Canadian weather, including snow. I think that's a testament of reliability, no?

Like any aftermarket adjustable shock, they take a while to figure out how you like them to be tuned/adjusted to YOUR liking and driving style. They pair best with factory springs. I can't recommend using an aftermarket spring as I tried them with a set of H&R springs and it was awful. If you decide to get them, start with 5 clicks of adjustment from full soft and go from there.

For the money, these are good value. And yes, they are made in Japan. I'm not sure why all the hate for stuff that's "Made in China."

Well, there are two factors for the dislike of Chinese products.
First, they are good at copying, yet not good with materials science. I'm sure there are many on this forum who have had the displeasure of dealing with some problem twice because of a failure of some Chinese copy. This is not limited to Porsches. There are many in a BMW forum I use where the same situation occurs, compounded by some German manufacturers sourcing items from China they previously produced themselves, and having it fall apart. This is particularly true of suspension components.
The other problem is philosophical. Why would one support those trying to kill or dominate you?
I have no problem at all paying a little more for something made nearly anywhere else.

I had a set on my MX5 and they seemed to work fine. Yes, a tad hard but then again compared to tired old ones, you would expect that.

@newsguy where do you think many "Porsche" parts are made? Even so called "German" parts are made in China. Not everything made there is crap. It all depends on the actual manufacturer and what actual factory and quality they want
