This won't save any cash this time, but it might in the long run. A lot of shops offer alignment packages for 1, 3, or 5 years. If you plan on keeping the car for a while and drive it often, an alignment every six months or so is common. Tossing the cash out once and having it over with may help out...

hey 800 is reasonable. dealers usually charge 1000. i paid 800 and i've been told that it's not easy and takes time to do the rear. pay the 800 and you'll be very happy. i love driving lowered cars.

oil change for 400 isn't too bad through the dealer....i think. i went to a local porsche mechanic and paid 300.

$400 for oil change is obscene. Even the NYC dealer ($160/hr labor rate) quotes "only" $300. A CT dealer quoted $260. I changed mine at a lube shop. Quizzed the guy on proper torques and wrenches for the Box (passed with flying colors), brought my own filter, tipped the guy a $20 and got to watch him do it. $110 including the tip.

$400 for an oil change

9 quarts of mobile 1 $60
1 OEM porsche filter $15

The abililty/willingness to change your own oil...priceless

OMG! $400 for an oil change!

You HAVE to do this yourself. It is very easy to do. I can't bloody believe that anybody could look you straight in the face and say an oil change costs $400.
