There was a letter sent out about two years ago to boxster owners, about how cigarettes were being sucked into the intake behind the drivers door and gettting stuck in the paper/cloth air filter and starting fires... :-) And removing the snorkel, just increases your chances since you have an open hole and not a long tube... :-)
