Your going to have to pull the clutch to find out.
probably best to not run it even in neutral..... could cause more damage to clutch components.
It may be as simple as "just" a throw out bearing issue.
If you do you own work there is just labor involved in removing and replacing it.
Not an expensive part in relative terms.
