Sound proofing your boxster???
I am new to the boxster S, been used to driving M3's and other bmw's. I didnt have a problem with road/wind noise before but now I do. Has anyone done sound proofing on their boxsters? I was thinking about doing dynamat on the doors, hood and trunk area. Any other suggestions?
Was also debating taking the seats out, removing the carpet removing the door panels and sound proofing the entire car from the inside, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I've heard the Lexus "mod" (switching your Box for a Lexus) works for most people with similar issues.

I do not think you would see a measurable improvement by adding all that sound-deadening material. It is a convertible, it is inherently noisy compared to the other vehicles you listed (non-convertible with engine in the front).

Sir, the sound/windnoise is one half the joy of owning a Boxster. (I'll refer you the the song by Rush, Little Red Barchetta). If the noise is that bothersome, put the top up or drive the Cayman or a Lexus. For the past few days here in Michigan we've had30-45 degree temps. I"ve had the top down and heater up for all of them.

Deal with it, your engine is behind you. I don't think there's soemthing you can do about it. Or buy an ear plugs, if that doesnt work go to plan b

Really not a helpful bunch of answers thus far. Look guys, the noise problem in Boxsters is not the wind, but a deep exhaust rumble. I myself don't mind it, as long as the trip is not real long, but I really like to have the wife along, and it's a really penetrating noise for her.
As far as my Lexus sport convertible goes, yes it's fast and much quieter, but a Boxster is leagues beyond it in handling. That's why I have both...

Oregon John....
....you cannot have a stock exhaust muffler.
Post a photo of the muffler under your Box and we can suggest options.

Yes, you must have an after-market exhaust if you are finding it loud. The stock exhaust is quiet.

I love driving with my wife in the car, only time I can have her with me and she doesnt talk.
As said the stock muffler is probably too quite for most.

If you are planning on using Dynamat, go with https://www.fatmat.com/
I have used it on a restored VW Bug....cost less than Dynamat and just as good.
