Those with 987 MAF Tube
I was successfully able to install my 987 Airbox, 987 MAF tube and my 997 Throttle Body and Intake T-Plenum. Car needs a tune which will happen soon. My question is, what MAF are you running? My Car came stock with the updated 986 MAF. 986.606.125.01. However, the 987 MAF is 987.606.125.00. Are you guys pulling the 987 MAF and using your OEM MAF Sensor, or using the 987 MAF?

MAF connection
I'm also interested as I just got the 987 MAF and discovered it has a different connector.
Yes, it has the 987 part number.

Oh man, that is from a 987.2. You must have the 987.1 MAF otherwise it’s not going to work. The reason I am asking is because BOSCH has the same part number for all Boxsters from 1997-2008 bit Porsche has different part numbers through the years.

987.1
That figures. It seemed too easy.

If you check the video on my YouTube channel you will see this exact situation arrive at 7:20.

It's pretty easy to change the connector with the newer model.

I saw you gave up on making a connector. Were you unable to find them?

You're right. I should shut up and watch my own videos! In the following episode I reveal the obvious solution 40 seconds into the video!

Yes, I have returned the .2 version and ordered the .1
Are you happy with your plumbing or would you do anything different? After two tries, I think you might be an expert on the subject now!

With the new motor I went to silicone tubing. No more aluminum. So much easier! I mentioned this in a later video (don't remember which one) and pictured it in my "TOP 20" video, released this past week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wydbdoZYLk0&t=38s
Things seem to be perking along nicely now although I'm going to get my tune tweaked since it was done before the headers. When all is done I'll get a dyno run done and see if all this silliness adds up to real figures!

I also have '99 and after removing this airbox from the '02 and seeing how small it is, I wonder if there is any advantage to the 2.5. Do you know of anyone doing this and finding a benefit? I realize the bigger throttle body is probably too much. Didn't get any results searching.
