Is there really coolant behind this plug?

I've been smelling coolant lately, took a look, found this:





BTW my coolant is orange...

It's coming from someplace else. That is the IMS chain tensioner. If coolant is there you have other problems. You might want to have a look at the oil cooler. It is above that area.

Agreed, I have a couple of oil cooler seal kits somewhere around here.

I feel like I may have messed up what could have been an amusing test. I'm intrigued by your signature line; I also have a 98 but not with a 7.8 DME and a 3.6! That must be fun. Are you running dual DMEs or someone figure out an interface to the 5.2? I have also owned and repaired Porsches since '74. My first was a '69.

It was a long day in my shop....thought I might liven it up.

My first was a 67 912 in 74.

The 98 was completely rewired and most everything electrical was replaced. It thinks it is a ROW 2005 911 x51.
