80 degree C = 176 degree F
84 degree C = 183 degree F

The engine temp depends on ambient air temp, how hard engine is running, around town driving vs. open highway at speed, etc.

In the South (warm-hot) 180-185 wasn't unusual. Remarkably, even at the track on a hot day, temps didn't get a whole lot higher (but the track had some long straights to help cool things down).
