Looking for replacement mirror hinge

Had to street park at my girlfriend's last night and came out this AM to a broken driver's side mirror and a scrape on front fender. The scrape looks buffable, but the mirror's hanging off. I inspected it and the folding mechanism inside is broken. The mirror itself, motors, and dimming mechanism are ok and the shell is fine because it was covered in protective film and the paint transfer came off the film with a vigorous microfiber buff.

I don't want to turn it in on insurance because my deductible is higher than the cost of an eBay mirror ($400ish).

Is it possible to replace just the folding hinge? Where can I find one? (dealer already said they don't have parts, just a whole new mirror for a million dollars)

Did you try Woody's parts (Itsnotanova) here on the forum? He would be my first stop.

Wow you have the very rare autodimming mirror option!
Never seen one in person on a 986, although one former forum contributor from california had this.
I second the referral to Woody - bet he's got one with a busted mirror and intact hinge at a good price.
BOL, looks like transferring the parts may be a PIA.

I also have it and its very nice. I had to replace it a few years ago and it was pricey.
