Question

I had new tires put on my 2003 Boxster about a month ago and there seems to be something rubbing. When the car is sitting still and I move the steering wheel back and fourth something just doesn't sound right. Just coming from the front right tire. Also at times the steering wheel will shake but then goes away. I'm thinking the tire is rubbing on the springs for the tie rods may be bad. Anyone ever run into this?

Shouldn't be any rubbing unless you are using oversize tires, or something is broken and rubbing against a tire, or possibly some foreign material got hung up in the front end.
Have you had a look under there to see?

could be some wheel well plastics that arent secured and are rubbing the wheel either at speeds or during turns.

Might want to check to see that all of your wheel bolts are still there and tightened correctly. Or even that the wheel is on correctly.

I always thought it was bad for the car to turn the steering wheel when standing still.
