Car lagging badly

Just had an audio system installed in my 98 2.5 Boxster and as soon as I picked it up from the shop, the car seemed to have lost all power above 4000rpm. It pulls fine to about this point then it seems to lag and jerk a bit. The audio system involved taping into the vehicle speed sensor and having the battery disconnected but im not sure if this is related.

If anyone has any idea what could be the problem, that would be great.

Looks like they disconnected the battery, which erased your computer, after about driving 50 to 100 miles it will re-learn.

Hi,

As mentioned, it may be a reset ECU (DME in Porsche Parlance). But, I'm suspecting you have a MAF issue and the fact that it is manifesting itself so shortly after your audio installation is merely coincidence. Keep us posted. Good Luck...

Thanks for the input... ive been driving the car for the past few days and it seems to have become a little bit better, but still not at full power. Hopefully it is just a reset ECU and nothing more serious.
