Who can push a 986 special edition tune?

I am doing the 987 airbox/74mm TB mod in my 2004 Boxster S and would like to use the 987 maf. For this, I beleive that the best way would be to use the special edition tune. The problem is: where on earth cane I get this file and can it be loaded into my existing ECU?

That will require access to a legitimate PIWIS system.

you will also need the codes for your car - specifically, the DME programming code. not easy to get. porsche is supposed to give them out but never does. you gotta know a 'guy' to get them. perhaps pm 986bsdriver to see what he is going through to get his. i *might* be out east in may, and could bring my pst2, but really up in the air at this point (currently losing on both sides of the money/time equation). otherwise, i have the old ducting left over from when i was running a base tune with 987 airbox and TB that i could send you.

@TRK Were you using the 986 MAF with your setup?

before i went to a 996 tune in order to use the larger MAF holder, i had the 987 airbox and an adaptor to reduce down to the 986 MAF holder that i swapped off my old airbox. i have this adaptor though to the silicone elbow onto the throttlebody if interested.

I told my local dealer service manager my engine failed so I was installing a different engine & converting to a racecar. He called PCNA & gave me the codes.

It's certainly not easy to get the codes and every place has its reasons why they don't want to hand them out. I gotta be present with proof of ownership which isn't a huge issue, except I was on vacation with a different car. I did pay the dealership for the radio code though, they would not hand out anything else Other then that.

the codes come as numbers on a piece of paper, associated with the VIN and specific to each car (ecu, gauge cluster, immobilizer). you type them into the pst2/piwis when pushing the new tune.
