OBC Upgrade question

Just undertaking the OBC upgrade as described in 101 Projects and I have a couple of questions I wondered if anybody could help

I assume the connector into the Cluster where you put the new cables is the Grey one, not the Blue or Green?

Also my car was registered in UK January 2001, so I assume was in factory in 2000. As the cables are connected differently between 2000 and 2001, how do I find out which to use? The VIN decode comes out with 2001 as date.

Many thanks for any help anybody can give me.

Yeah, it was tricky to close the loop holes in the DIY instruction, but I remember, that I could find all information needed in the book and on the Pelican-website (ask the moderator there, if you are not sure). Most of the time the book refers to MY97-2000.

The switch to Model year MY2001 started in July 2000...I think it was around that date....So if it was produced in the 2nd half of 2000, then it should be a MY01.

How do you know the pin#s, are they on the connectors or in the book? I have a 1999 and it's the white plug for me, but wanted to know how to tell which spot for the pin on the connector.

Pretty sure the connector has them labeled, but they are tiny. The book (and the site Porsche Boxster On Board Computer (OBC) Upgrade and Turn Signal Switch Replacement - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article) just references the numbers as labeled on the connector.

I used the Grey connector (far left side) on my 2002 S and had no issues. The tech article on the PP site is helpful but poorly written. I printed it out and blacked out all of the info that did not pertain to my car. Eliminating the the multiple year/multiple procedure noise made it less confusing.
