Anyone fit a Sparc Chrono Road

Has anyone fit a Sparco Chrono Road seat into the boxster ?

Sparco USA

I bought a use 2001 S the seats are pretty shot.

I also want to take it regularly to HPDEs and am a big boy.

As I use it for daily driving as well, Id love to have a hybrid seat.

The Chrono Road fits me great and should fit that bill.

The problem is will it fit...

Thanks.

I don't know about that seat but I do know the Recaro Profi XL seat fits just fine, maybe can compare the dimensions of your proposed seat to that?

Note that that seat looks a bottom mount which looks to me like it would sit high, might be better to wait for someone that has that seat installed rather than compare with the side mount seat above like I suggested.

The Sparco Pro2000 II fits fine using the stock slider and BK side mounts.

Based on comparing dimensions, I'd guess that the Chrono Road will be a tight fit since it is wider then the Pro2000 II. The Pro2000 II has some clearance, but its hard to say how well the Chrono will fit once all is said and done.

I agree with Steve, try to find someone who has this seat installed or make sure that you can return it.

I will say that the Recaro Profi XL is a great seat for us "big boys", I had a friend ride as a passenger at Road Atlanta and he makes me look like an ant, and I am 6'2" - he is probably 6'6" and 300+ lbs or more.

I don't daily drive my Boxster but I think I could live with this seat as a daily driver, I have no trouble on 3-4 hour drives to various tracks. Only when it is longer, like 5+ hours, like to Road Atlanta or Carolina Motorsport Park that it gets a little tiresome, but I think any seat would be tiresome.

The trick for making a race seat workable as a daily driver, in my opinion, is getting the seat belt receptacle to where you can easily reach it, when I first installed my Recaro seats the receptacle was too low and hard to reach when I was in the seat so I bought a seat belt extender and it made all the difference.
