Piston crack, cylinder sleeve damaged

Hi,

I just got my car back from my mechanic

The car had a fluttering round and was running on high Fuel Consumption..

The engine was opened up and I took a photo of my piston

It was cracked. My mechanic replaced that piston and told me my cylinder lining is not an additional sleeve but built into the cylinder.. so he had to machine in a new sleeve

May I know if that is the case? Just took the car today and it's running ok.

Will it have any long term consequences? Given now 5 of the cylinders have lining and 1 is on a sleeve.

Thank you.
