You know, I just put 19s on our car, primarily for the look. I fully expected a degraded ride quality, which I'd then have to explain to my wife , but it didn't happen. We can tell no discernable difference in the ride quality or noise (which may change as the tires age). Also, the tires were far less $ than I'd anticipated. They may bend easily due to the incredibly short sidewall, but I'm trying not to find that out.
