Coilover Advise needed?

Hi All,

I have a boxster (98) that I am converting to a road legal track car.

What coil overs do you all suggest that are still OK to use on street?

Is anyone looking to shift a set on?

What's your budget? H&R's Street Performance coils are a great coil over that are good on track and still good for the street. Lots of Porsche owners tend to go this route for track use, but still compatible/comfortable for street use. Most coils you get will work for either, but ride comfort can be sacrificed with what platform you go with. For example, I currently am running AST's on a track car of mine that are valved and sprung for TT racing so they're really not comfortable on the street. Otherwise, KW is another brand that also makes a few different variants for your 986. V1-V3 (V2's look to be NLA currently) and possibly Clubsports. Personally, V1's are great for street/track use and may be all that you need for what you're wanting to do. The higher variant V3's gives you a ton of adjustability ranges. I actually know people who purchase V3's for different platforms just for a better street ride. PSS9's are one of the most common choices

Several people I know and myself included are running the Ksport Kontrol Pro coil over for street and track. I'm on my 7th season. I will be replacing them with the same ones again this year.

Thanks guys. Does anyone have any experience with the Dansk Coilover? It has the camber adjustment, assume they are just a rehashed ksport ?

Are there any difficulty with bump steer etc

With coilovers, you tend to get what you pay for, so it really comes down to how much performance do you want and how much do you want to spend?

The standard is probably PSS9's since they are used on Spec Boxster's for racing, but they are a little pricy. Of course, there are lower priced options.

If you'll post up your budget, I'm sure that folks will post up what coilovers they think are a good value at that price point.

Another really good option is the M )#) ROW kit. Its not coil overs, but a really good sport suspension for a boxster
