The Porsche TSB recommends replacing the failed ignition switch with a new lock assembly and switch. I don't know the price but I have read that it is about $450 US dollars installed. Thrifty Boxster owners, like myself, buy the old style ignition switch for $8 to $30 dollars and endure the yoga positions required to replace it. I figure if it fails every 5 years, it's a lot cheaper than ponying up $450.
