Noisy steering

Took my Boxster to garage for an MOT, after the test I noticed the steering made a low rumbling noise. Took it back to ask them to check and they jacked it up using a block under the center of the front! Will this cause any damage? None was found but the noise is still there.

I thought the steering was bad in my 03 S and it turned out to be failing struts and a bad sway bar link.
