2000 Boxter - Radio Displays "Phone"

I recently changed battery on 2000 Boxter, and had to reinput radio code to unlock it. The radio worked normally for about 10 minutes then the FM quit and the word PHONE is displayed and I am unable to switch to FM? If I disconnect battery and then input code the same thing happens after about 10 minutes. Any help would be appreciated.
Thx

It's mad at you and telling you to phone someone who will care for her better and not misspell her model or let her battery go flat

Odd behavior but check the 4 prong plug behind center console. Seems like it may have grounded out

Good luck

Tahoe,
It may be a good opportunity for an upgrade?
Just search/ask -lots of options from diy EBay big screen navi+stereo to very expensive custom installs.

If you have a CDR-220, the telephone mute function is being engaged.

PM me and I can email you the full CDR-220 operating manual. Here are the pertinent sections;
