I have a 01 2.7 and really want a 996 engine

Which engine is the easiest to swap in, and what all is involved. I figure I can sell my good engine for a small chunk of change, and put the rest to getting the new engine. Does anyone make mounts for this conversion? Being that I have the 01 car will I need a different ecu?

Which engine is the easiest to swap in,
probably a 3.2 from another Boxster

More than anyone will post in one reply, but not too much to find and read. Consider more than just the engine: transmission, brakes, cooling...

Probaby, look in the classified section and on eBay, they may be cheaper than you think.

Engine mount (front) can be the same, but may need to be lowered. You can buy more solid aftermarket ones.

You will need the appropriate tune flashed to the ecu (DME) or get one compatible with the '01 and new engine.

...and read through the other threads that you have started.
