Engine Rattle

My '01 S has a mettalic engine rattle which is most easily heard when accelerating in low gears after the engine is at operating temperature.

The dealer has confirmed the rattle and checked the engine on two different occasions. They have changed the catalytic converter and the muffler. The rattle persists.

Anyone with a similar problem or a solution??

I had the same issue with my '01 (non S). The dealership ended up replacing (after 3 trips) both cats and both PRE-cats along with replacing a leaking exhaust gasket - The rattle is gone!

Matt:
Thanks for the response. This is helpful (I'm only in the second dealer trip now).
