I replaced the bank 2 camshaft hall effect sensor, Plugged in the SAI pump, and ran into another code. This is the only code existing now:

P1331 Porsche fault code 903 camshaft bank 2 driver

At idle,

spec. angle for inlet camshaft bank 2 = 0
spec. angle for inlet camshaft bank 1 = -3 to 0.6
actual angle for inlet camshaft bank 2 = -2.5 to .5
actual angle for inlet camshaft bank 1 = -8.5 to .5

The spec. angle for inlet camshaft bank 2 never changes.

So it appears the cam timing may be an issue. Can anyone out there with experience in this area comment?

That is because P1331 indicates no signal from sensor #2, most likely a disconnection somewhere in the harness.

Reebuck1 Wins! The code P1331 description pointed to the hall effect sensor, but the actual cause was a loose connector on the Variocam! I clearly missed snapping the catch on the connector and it slipped off after awhile. Man are these cars fun to drive! Mine has been sitting until I could troubleshoot the loose connector with a Durametric and figure out the loose connector on the Variocam. I'm no longer stuck in convertible Mustang GT land as a daily driver! Thanks to everyone who chimed in to help! This thing once again idles at a steady 800 rpm and runs like the Tasmanian Devil!
