Boxster locking / alarming issues

I have a 2000 Boxster. The windows work fine and drop the inch when opening the doors. The roof retracts and closes fine. The key remote is emitting a fed light as it should. The doors won't lock. The trunk won't open with the remote. The gas door I had to use the little pull ring to open...it was locked. The little lock toggle on the dash had a red light on it then it went out. I can't get it to come on and lock the car when the doors are closed and I'm inside. I suspect the Alarm Control Unit (ACU) but am not sure. Anyone have an idea of what might cause this ? I would hate to go to the dealer for the Durametric but fear I may have no choice as to figure out what is not working.

My doors also will not lock and everything else works, but mine is because I replaced the ECU/Immobilizer-CLU/Key electronics from another car that was in an accident.

I suspect the Imobilizer-CLU needs some programing to restore that functionality.

In researching it can also happen if some of the door limit/locking switches are faulty.

The Porsche Codes will indicate the problem if its the switches etc.

Garage
Check the battery charge. Low battery can cause crazy electrical things.
Also check for water
Under the driver side seat.

Repair of body control unit is possible.
Pls search this forum .
