O2 sensor fault codes
Today while zipping around in the sweltering heat/humidity in Georgia the check engine light came on. No decrease in performance. When I arrived at home I plugged in my new to me used Durametric cable and it detected fault code P0153 + P1276. I believe both of these point to bank # 2 ( drivers side ) O2 sensor ahead of the cat. Just checking with the brain trust to make sure I'm right. I have a spare O2 sensor so no big deal just want to make sure I'm replacing the right one. Car is an 2002 S. Thanks

Maybe an aging sensor, maybe damaged wiring since both on the drivers side are affected.

Use your Durametric to look at the O2 sensors ahead of Catalytic converters, with the Air Pump not running, you should have alternating voltage readings between 0 and .8 volts. You can compare bank 1 and bank 2.

I dont have a code tool, but i had the check engine light come on,so I went to autozone and I was told it was an O2 fault, it was reset but came back a while later, how many O2 sensors does my 99 boxster have? (2)? Thanks in advance.

I reset the code with my Durametric and so far it has not come back on. It probably will but I'll run it until it does then I'll put in my spare.

Four, one in front of the catalytic converter and one behind the catalytic converter for each bank (bank 1 and bank 2).
