Gen 2 Single Row Pro IMD Retrofit

Was out on the LN Engineering website, IMS Retrofit | The LN Engineering IMS Retrofit Kit for MY97-05 Porsche Boxster and 911 Models, and they have something on a Gen 2 retrofit but you need a password to access it. Anyone know more about this? I'm getting my IMS done next week and I'm really interested in knowing since I most likely have the single row bearing.

The information concerning this retrofit will not be released to the public until mid-January 2014. The website is password protected so our volume distributors that have placed their orders can access the information to make their flyers and add info to their websites.

No information has been released to anyone other than the purchasing agents for the distributors. There are no plans to release the information early.

These units will only be available for professional installation, DIY installs will not be recommended, or supported.

The bearing and the system to install it as well as the method of installation are all patent pending. The special Raby Faultless tool is required to install this technology.

You know there is something different coming, you know who it comes from, but you don't know its possible advantages versus the existing products that are out there.

And even once it is announced you'll be caught again between the devil you know and the new kid on the block.

And the same guys will be raising questions about tests data on the new item.

There will always be an information vacuum.

So does it have to be done now or could it wait a month till you know more?

Nope.

Nothing will beat the IMS Solution, the Generation 2 IMS Retrofit is a mid price point product thats the next level beyond the standard retrofit without the cost of the IMS Solution. Thats all.

If you're looking for something takes the whole ball bearing question out of the picture, the IMS Solution is the only way to go.

I gotta believe Gen2 is going to be a big advance over Gen1 otherwise why invest the time and money to develop it. If you can wait 30 to 60 days, it may be well worth it.

Since it is a mid priced solution I am going ahead with my plans and getting this done amongst a bunch of other stuff since it's already in the shop.

Do you have anyone in your network in the Allentown, PA area? I have an 04 S Triptronic with 16,000 miles on the vehicle. I would like to get the IMS problem nipped in the bud before it becomes a problem. Waiting a month isn't a problem.
