Clutch issue??

Looking for some input and greatly appreciate any feedback/input you have.

The clutch went to the floor with a click, now it's really soft on engagement and release. When I release the clutch it returns half way up and then kinda pops the rest of the way. It will engage the gears and drives but only drove it a mile back home so I don't know if there are any other issues/symptoms. I'll look at the clutch pedal assembly in the morning for a visual. I'm kind of expecting a master/slave cylinder issue but looking for some input.

Thanks,

tw

Sounds like the symptoms I had after bleeding my clutch.
I got air in the line and it was a bear to get it right again. Was not a lot of fun reaching the bleeder screw.
If you haven't been working on the car, likely the slave cylinder on the tranny has failed or is leaking.
Maybe check fluid level too.
Time to get greasy!

Thanks for the feedback Steve. I've checked for leaks and the brake fluid is full so I think it's one of the slave cylinders. I'll end up taking it to an independent shop to find out more.

Thanks again,

tw

My did the same thing before I changed the clutch. My pedal would only come half way back up after it was depressed. Turned out my pressure plate had 2 broken fingers on it.
