Start by checking fuses. Then check the top latch switch (the button inside the latch hole) and the top microswitch. Both are located behind the top latch cover.
To open the top latch cover, remove the two black alarm lenses (they look like alien eyes) by carefully prying/clicking them out (they just snap in). Then remove the two Torx screws holding the latch cover and you're in. Very common for the top microswitch to fail - I replaced mine twice in three years.
