Loss of Power (HP) from Engine

Friends

Issue: Each morning or time I first start my 2001 Boxster S I seem to lose a lot of horsepower for about 3-5 miles then the car seems to come back to life with full power. Car seems very under powered in all gears for first 3 miles of driving. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to resolve it? Thanks. In addition can people post some websites where they order parts - thank you.

Interesting. The first thing I would do is disconnect the MAF sensor and see if you are getting the same behavior on your first few miles. If you are getting the exact same behavior then I'd say your O2 sensors are shot and needs replacing.

Just a wild guess.

If any one of those two (possibilities) would be at fault, your DME would have logged it. Plugging your car onto a PIWIS would certainly tell you what's living (or not) in there.

Good old autumn morning condensation??? would this affect the running of the engine?
