When someone called 'rustang cobra' makes only one post and that is in reference to the 3 month old settlement of the class-action suit on the engines in many of our cars; when after high-lighting that he signs off with 'good luck everyone', he is an obvious troll IMO.

I have been accused of being rude/cranky on this forum but your remark Southernstar was over the top . I think that you have to give the poster the benefit of the doubt.

Well, as I have made some others uncomfortable, I toned down my second post in reference to what certainly seem like a troll!

It's not like he or she was asking if an 11 inch wheel will fit.

It isn't like everyone knew that the lawyers were finally able to start processing claims. A useful posting IMHO and one I copied to elsewhere.

I'm curious whether anyone on here is going to use this to re-coup their losses.

I was asked if I was available to be an *expert* witness. I said sure! No problem. Never got called

Have seen some saying they have already sent in claims. Be careful as the details matter.

please forgive me if this question has already been answered, but I have a Boxster S that falls into the year range. I'm uncertain if the IMS has been done. If it hasn't, and fails, will I be covered in the class?

yeah, I got the lawyer calls for info and they wanted all my shop records. Customers have been calling in the dozens this week about the letters they received.

Would it be my best interest to "Exclude Myself" instead of "Object" to the Class Action Settlement when my 2003 with 80k miles has been "placed in service" (registered) for more than 10 years?

Object if your car did not have IMS related damage before its 10 year in service time limit expired. If enough people object, the settlement might be amended to include more favorable terms to owners that don't qualify. Otherwise, if you exclude yourself, your only option will be to sue Porsche by yourself. Doing that will cost you more than buying a new engine.
