			Is there a current preferred brand / heat range spark plug that would be best for my 2000S 
Also what is the deal with this $50 spark plug tube assembly grease????

			jaykay, the $$$ grease is not required.... 
 
1) I've used both Bosch and Beru plugs - I cant tell the difference between them, but I change them out every 25,000km, so thats no surprise. Type 14FGR 6KQU. 
 
2) I've only used the original Beru coils - still going strong @ 90,000km, no cracks or tracking issues to date, but I live in the sub-tropics so road salt / corrosion is not as issue. Can't find the type# - maybe somebody else can help......

			Semi OT, can you use any silicon grease, or do you just put the O-rings and pop the tubes in with no grease at all. I have got all the parts to do this, and I have some other silicone grease, but not the "official" Porsche spark plug tube grease.

Hmm, I haven't tried it yet, but I bought the pipe fittings for a T section to try and use. Read about it on Pelican Parts if I remember it correctly. I was going to change plugs this weekend, then decided to wait until after my trip as there is nothing wrong currently and I didn't want to cause an issue.

			Here's a couple of pictures. If you look closely at the first one you will see th threaded pipe is tapered. So it fits in the tube about half way before the threads engage. The theory is you just srew it in and then pull it out and the tube comes out easily. The transom sometimes does not expand enough sometimes or starts to break under the stress. if I recall correcly, the pipe is standard 3/4" fittings.
