How long should I go before changing my clutch?

I found the Porsche clutch action got "heavy" long before it slipped or dragged.
This heavy or stiff feeling kind of creeps up on you and it's only when you feel a new clutch action that you realise that your's is worn...
After saying that, I replaced my stiff clutch @ 50,000 miles only to find it was only 50% worn.!!

96k miles for mine and the clutch a fw were done.

I changed mine at 142,000 miles...and not b/c of the clutch, but because of the 2nd gear pop-out issue. Syncros were shot. FW was good and the clutch could have waited.
