Locking lugs are lame, lose them.
The only person they inconvenience is you. Thieves have regular sporting competitions to see how fast they can disable and remove them. The current record is .007 seconds. |
got rid of mine first thing PITA!
|
My car did not come with the key, so I bought the locking lug remover and it turned the locker off just as fast as using the regular wrench.
The lockers are useless. |

I still want the key on there on all four wheels if I have a choice but I may do that once I convert it to lug nuts. The brand key I would get is McGard.
I have 23mm spacer on my rear wheel which I had to get longer bolt. I don't like lug bolts bc it's time consuming to get the wheels on centered even if you use that stick. |
Febi lug bolts are sold by several vendors: Pelican, ECS tuning, etc. All at around $7. Genuine Porsche ones are only a dollar more ($8.03) at ECS tuning however.
|
First thing I did was trash the anti theft lugs.
|
I've also found that Febi is a part of Bilstein corporation, actually an acronym from the founder's name FErdinand BIlstein.
|
replaced them all with SS ones
|
Got rid of mine right away, too.
Dremel with nonmetallic wheel made old ones look just like the new ones. |
Tossed mine long ago. The POS locking socket is made out of pot metal and mine broke trying to take off the rear ones. Luckily my local porsche dealer let me use theirs.
|
I checked a few sites online, but can't find anyone selling a stud conversion kit for boxsters - anyone have a link??

You would have to use pass-through lug nuts, right? If that's the case, doesn't it look cheap?

Replaced all mine with extended bolts after I put on my spacers. I'm not very worried about anyone taking my wheels and they look much nicer. You also don't have to worry about losing the key

Got tired of fooling with the aligning tool while changing tires and installed studs:dance:
