Front hood latch question?..won't pop up...

What makes the hood pop up when you hit the release? Mine releases but barely pops up enough to get my fingers in there.

Mine just started doing the same, haven't had time to investigate yet.

just spry it with a lubricant and open close several times.
WD40 did the job for me.
