Yes, I pulled back the foam, and it wiggles in the socket when the top is partially down, and in the service position.
This afternoon, I checked it again, and I had been turning the bolt on top of the plate the wrong direction, thereby running the ball upwards, which made the cable looser. Seems the plate needs to have play in it, but if cable is tighter, the rattle may stop.
So, I worked on it again, and turned the bolt counter clockwise, and watched the plate with the ball drop down, which is what I needed.
I snapped the tension cable back on, closed the top, and now it seems the cable is tighter, and hopefully will not make the rattle.
I hope I didn't tighten it too much, but seems there's still a little wiggle in the cable.
