IPD Plenums | Porsche
I am reading claims of significant HP gains using IPD intake plenum... Anyone have experience with their products?

It sounds great but because I have/had air leaks I believe that skewed the performance results. Looking to get that rectified next week.

Without an adjustment to the cars DME engine computer I would be surprised if there is any measurable improvement at all.
The computer controls the fuel/air ratio based on the sensors and is tuned to the software loaded specific rate setting (Curve) for the conditions reported by the sensors.
If the plenum is not restricted and can accomodate that volume of air already then making it more free flowing will not likely alter the power being generated since the amount of fuel being burned has not changed, unless you get the computers maps changed as well.
Thats why serious tuners always have to change the maps to get measurable improvements.
If it was just about air volume, you could just put an electric fan in your intake to supply a higher volume, like a blower or turbo but much less extreme.
So if you are going to "Pretty" up the engine you may as well save your dollars on the fancy plenums for the DME tuning for the real gains.
Having said that, if you do increase the rate of fuel burn and power then having adequate air in the form of bigger throttle body and ducts is also essential.

I dynoed it. Well worth the money. Add a larger throttle body for even more gains. Marginal gains about 5-7 hp across the board. 27hp when you kick over to high cam. Still on my car.
