Convertible top tierod problem

My convertible top is only being powered by one side. It looks like a tie rod fell off the drivers side so I have to help it up and down. Has anyone run into this? I'm hoping to find a writeup or least some helpful hints. It doesn't look easy to replace

This is what fell off.

It's actually not too hard of a job. See Wayne's write up, which has lots of good tips. You can buy the parts on Pelican, too. I replaced my bent ones with the non-OEM versions, and they've been holding up just fine.

Did the tie rod just pop off of the ball or did the plastic ball socket on the arm break? If it just came off somehow and isn't damage, you can just reattach it. If it broke you'll have to get a new one and line the new one up to match the same length as the one that broke so all of your parts move in sync with each other.
