wiring 6 pole kill switch

i am installing a 6 pole kill switch on my spbox and to be clear, i am no guru when it comes to auto electronics. anyway, i know how to connect the battery, main feed (to two poles) and the resistor. however, the instructions that i have say to cut the wire from the ignition to the ignition coil and attach to the two remaining poles. however, i'm not sure where this wire is. Is it the ignition lock wire that runs through the center tub from the high amp fuse box?

any help would be appreciated!

i am using a switch similar to this

the wire you will need to cut, is coming out of the ignition switch.
in order to locate it, you will have to use a voltmeter or a test lamp.
the wire you are looking for will be the one showing 12V (or more), when the ignition key is at the on position. make sure the wire has 12 volts on it even when you crank the engine.
the wire should loose power when you turn the key to the off position.
if you will tell us what year is your car, i might even give you the wire color.
