bad torque??!!

im experiencing vibrations in my 1999 boxster while at low rpms my mechanic says that the torque must be replaced, is this true? and also is the torque related toa delay and two strong bangs while going from neutral to drive? thank you in advance

Torque converter, in your automatic transmission. Yes, very possible. Could also be an issue with your computer.
