Porsche FC 208 (P Code 1411)

I have a 1997 Boxster just turning to 60,000 miles. Replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor about a year ago after getting a "Check Engine" light, that resolved the problem. The "Check Engine" light has come back on. I pulled the MAF and inspected it for dirt or moisture issues and reinstalled it, and cleared the error code. After 2 drive cycles the Check Engine light is back on. My Bentley manual indicates P1411 for DME 5.2.2 as a problem with the Secondary Air Injection System For Cyl. 4-6.
I assume the replacement MAF that has functioned successfully for over a year is not the problem. I would appreciate any information, site links, or instruction you can provide that would help me trace the problem. I have reviewed the discussion of the secondary air injection system in the Bentley Manual, but can not see most of the cited components from the top with the engine cover plate removed. What components, and in what order, should I move or remove, to expose the secondary air injection system parts and identify the issue causing the fault?

Many Thanks,
Charlie

The 410/1411 codes

http://sites.google.com/site/mikefocke2/checkenginelightcausedbymassairflowsensor

contains a flow chart and you are right that the cause is usually not the MAF itself
