Tiptronic runleaks fluid while driving Stops

I have a 2001 Boxster 2.7 with a tip.

While driving on the hiway the car was in 5th but seemed to rev like in 3rd. tried shifting but no changes. the tip lights started flashing. Stopped at a light and then started to go andf car only went about 10 mph. Pulled over smoke from fluid comming from rear and pushed into lot.

Had towed and mech said there was no fluuid it was over the bottom of car. I had no stains or leaks on my drive way so this must have happend while driving.

$ 8k came up.

I started searching and found a trani with 26 k and a 1 year war P & L local for 3200. called AAMCO and they said they can rebuild . Not sure they can may be a story as other places do not. I still need it installed at 1.2 k Palm beach county FL.

Any sugestions could this trani work if filled and seals replaced. could it be the differential or torque converter?
