Any suggestions????

Hello All,

New to forum but referred by long time friend.

My boxster S. 2002 40k miles.

I have a little issue and would like some advise where to start to look. My car starts and idles fine. Take off and can get about a mile then dies. No lights or indications. I can get it to fire back up but when try to accelerate, nothing dies. From that point it just cranks over.

If i let it sit over night it will start again. But same problem occurs.

First guess is starving for fuel. So after searching, fuel filter or fuel pump? I am planning on starting with the filters because that is about the limit to my mechanical abilities.

What do you think? Anything opinions would be appreciated

You are definately on the right track could also be a fuel pressure regulator, however, starting 2002 the filter, fuel pump and regulator are inside the fuel tank, usually these filters do not go bad unless you got a load of sludge from a service station. did you by any chance recently refill the car?
