Unhappy Bad Hibernation

Hey guys/gals,

I've got a question for the storage folk.

My car "accidently" went into storage for 6 months with no oil change and no fuel stabilizer. Luckily the car is on a battery maintainer though.

My question is how do I bring it out of hibernation? The oil hasn't been changed in almost 2 years. I used to do it annually as the car never made it anywhere near the 15k per oil change and now it went sleeping without a diaper change.

Do I change the oil prior to starting? Do I add octane booster to the fuel as its 6-7 months old?

Please advise!

James D.

i'd go ahead and change the oil now. don't sweat the fuel; just top off the tank with new gas as soon as you head out. check your tire pressures. that's about it.

drive easy for a bit & let it blow out any crud. she'll be fine.
